Missing menus, disabled buttons and hidden fields

Check edition, company options, permissions and document state in that order.

Steps

Confirm the installed edition. Enhanced Edition does not gain POS or authority menus merely by granting permissions.
Check multi-unit, tax, batch and bin switches; related hidden fields can be normal when disabled.
Review operator/cashier rights and have an authorized person inspect masked costs.
Approved, unsaved or empty documents can legitimately disable editing, approval or printing.
Read the available hint and record the exact entry, state and version before escalating.
