Discounts, promotions, rounding and authorization

Price changes, discounts and rounding are different adjustments. Confirm the discount display convention before entering a number.

Applies to:POS

Steps

  1. Scan and inspect the promotional price or gift condition. If it is absent, check dates, store scope and products instead of adding discounts repeatedly.
  2. Use line or whole-sale discounts only with permission. A payable rate of 80 means pay 80% of the original price; 20% OFF means reduce it by 20%.
  3. Follow cashier permissions for price changes, gifts and rounding. A required supervisor authorization must be completed by the supervisor.
  4. Verify the discounted total and rounding before payment, then reconcile them in history and shift reports.

The reason for the adjustment, its convention and the final amount agree.

Notes and troubleshooting

Do not assume every promotion stacks in every mode. Check cached data and the actual selling price when offline.
